Sindh CTD Arrests Two Suspects, Says Major Security Threat in Karachi Was Prevented

KARACHI: The Sindh Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) announced that it has disrupted an alleged security threat in Karachi following the arrest of two suspected militants during an intelligence-based operation.

According to an official statement, the operation was carried out on July 6 in coordination with federal intelligence agencies as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and prevent potential attacks.

Intelligence-Based Operation

The CTD said two individuals suspected of having links to the banned Baloch Liberation Army were taken into custody during the operation.

Officials stated that materials allegedly used for making explosive devices were recovered during the raid. Authorities said the suspects were allegedly planning to target sensitive locations and law enforcement offices.

Investigation Continues

Law enforcement agencies said the recovered material has been taken into custody for forensic examination, while investigators continue to gather additional evidence.

Officials have not released further details about the suspects or the ongoing investigation.

Security Measures Remain in Place

The CTD said intelligence-based operations are continuing as part of broader efforts to maintain public safety and respond to security threats.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities through official channels.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further information is expected to be released as the inquiry progresses.
