Lahore Authorities Shut Down Illegal Factory Producing Counterfeit Imported Food Products

Law enforcement authorities in Lahore have shut down an illegal manufacturing facility in the Township area that was allegedly producing and selling counterfeit imported food products.

During the operation, officials recovered a large quantity of products labeled as well-known international brands, including Nutella, Lotus Biscoff and Pringles. Authorities also alleged that expiry dates on some products had been altered before they were prepared for sale.

According to officials, the seized items were confiscated and destroyed during the raid. The owner of the facility was taken into custody, and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered to begin legal proceedings.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by Punjab authorities to strengthen food safety standards and curb the production and distribution of counterfeit consumer products.

Officials have urged consumers to purchase packaged food items from authorized retailers, carefully inspect packaging and expiry dates, and report any suspicious or potentially counterfeit products to the relevant authorities.

The action reflects continued efforts to protect public health and ensure that food products available in the market meet established safety and quality standards.
