Lahore Traffic Police Announces Special Plan for School Hours
Lahore Traffic Police has introduced a special traffic management plan to help maintain smooth traffic flow during school, college and university opening and closing hours.
Under the plan, additional traffic personnel will be deployed outside more than 200 schools located along busy roads across Lahore.
Additional Traffic Staff Deployed
Around 100 additional traffic response units and patrolling officers have been assigned to major roads to help manage congestion and assist motorists during peak school hours.
Extra personnel will be present on several important routes, including:
- Mall Road
- Jail Road
- Ferozepur Road
- Main Boulevard Gulberg
- Iqbal Road
- Wahdat Road
- Maulana Shaukat Ali Road
- Canal Road
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has directed circle officers to remain in the field during school opening and dismissal times.
Parking Rules Outside Schools
Traffic officials have also directed schools and colleges to coordinate with authorities regarding traffic management.
During dismissal times, single-line parking will be permitted outside educational institutions. Traffic officials will take action against double parking as well as unauthorized carts and stalls that create obstruction near schools and colleges.
Traffic Scouts Program to Restart
The Traffic Police has also decided to revive the Traffic Scouts program. The education unit has been directed to restart the initiative, while the driving school unit has been asked to prepare a scooter training program.
Road Safety Awareness for Students
A schedule will also be prepared for road safety awareness sessions at schools, colleges and universities.
The sessions will focus on traffic rules, responsible road use and safe driving practices, helping students better understand road safety and traffic regulations.
The new measures are aimed at improving traffic flow around educational institutions and making daily travel safer for students, parents and other road users.
