WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2027 Dates Confirmed

Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has confirmed the dates for the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup 2027, which will be held in Oklahoma City, United States, from June 28 to July 8, 2027.

The 12-team international tournament will be hosted by USA Softball at Devon Park, which is also scheduled to host the softball competition during the LA28 Olympic Games.

Oklahoma City to Host Three Editions

USA Softball and Devon Park have been selected to host the next three editions of the U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup in 2027, 2029, and 2031.

The arrangement will give young international players the opportunity to compete at a major softball venue with Olympic significance.

Devon Park is also scheduled for a $25.4 million renovation, which will expand the complex with two indoor practice fields, additional team facilities, and sports performance areas.

The venue already includes four playing fields, a 13,000-seat stadium, a three-story press box, the USA Softball headquarters, and the USA Softball Hall of Fame Museum.

12 Teams to Compete

The 2027 tournament will feature 12 national teams divided into two groups.

Hosts USA, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, have qualified automatically. Italy, Czechia, Australia, and New Zealand have also secured places in the competition.

The remaining spots will be decided through continental qualification tournaments.

China will host the U-15 Women’s Softball Asia Cup in Weihai from October 12 to 18, 2026. The top two teams from the Asian competition will qualify for the World Cup.

Four teams from the Americas and one from Africa will complete the 12-team field.

Third Edition of the U-15 World Cup

The 2027 tournament will be the third edition of the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup, the youngest age-category World Cup competition in the WBSC softball program.

The inaugural tournament was held in Tokyo in 2023, where the United States defeated Puerto Rico 3-0 in the final.

The second edition took place in Italy in 2025, with Japan winning the title after beating Puerto Rico 4-0 in the final.

The 2027 edition in Oklahoma City will bring together some of the world’s leading young softball players as they compete for the international title.
