Punjab Issues Notices to Six Stage Actresses Over Alleged Rule Violations
The Punjab Council of the Arts has issued notices to six stage actresses and several theatre venues in Lahore and other cities over alleged violations of performance and theatre regulations.
The notices were issued to actresses Saima Khan, Misbah Khan, Nazy, Chandni Sehar, Hina Chaudhry, and Fiza Diamond following concerns raised about performances described by authorities as inappropriate.
The council has also issued notices to several theatre halls over alleged violations of prescribed drama timings.
Theatre Issued Notice Over Security Arrangements
Punjab Theatre Lahore was separately served a notice over alleged non-compliance with required security arrangements and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The Punjab Council of the Arts has directed the concerned artists, theatre owners, and producers to submit their responses within two days.
The action follows instructions from the Punjab Department of Information and Culture to strengthen enforcement of rules governing stage performances.
Officials said further action may be taken if investigations establish violations of the applicable Drama Act or other relevant regulations.
