Floyd Samba Scores Twice on Manchester City Debut in 5-0 Win

Teenager Floyd Samba made an impressive Manchester City debut by scoring twice as City defeated Norwich City 5-0 in the League Cup third round at the Etihad Stadium.

The 17-year-old forward took full advantage of his opportunity as Manchester City made significant changes to their starting lineup following their weekend derby victory.

The result sent City into the League Cup last 16, where they will face Brighton and Hove Albion.

Samba Makes Immediate Impact

Samba needed little time to make an impression on his first appearance for Manchester City.

The youngster opened his account by heading home a cross from Brazilian midfielder Allan after Norwich goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw failed to deal with the delivery.

Samba later added his second goal with an excellent finish into the far corner, taking advantage of another defensive mistake from the visitors.

His two-goal performance made the teenager one of the main talking points of the night.

Allan Scores on City Debut

Allan also enjoyed a memorable first appearance for Manchester City after joining the club from Palmeiras in a reported £34 million transfer.

The Brazilian midfielder scored shortly after half-time following an impressive individual run. He moved through the Norwich defence before sending the ball into the far corner.

His performance added further depth to City’s heavily rotated squad.

Cherki and McAidoo Also Find the Net

Rayan Cherki was another player to get on the scoresheet, continuing his strong attacking display with a composed finish.

The France international was played through by Ayyoub Bouaddi, who was making his first start at the Etihad Stadium after his move from Lille.

Youngster Ryan McAidoo completed the scoring late in the match, adding another goal to an impressive night for City’s emerging players.

Norwich Struggle Against City’s Young Squad

Norwich also made several changes to their team as they focus on their Championship campaign and their push for promotion.

However, the visitors struggled to cope with Manchester City’s pace and attacking quality throughout the match.

City controlled the contest and created several opportunities, while Norwich were unable to build enough pressure to threaten the hosts.

The victory continued Manchester City’s perfect beginning under manager Enzo Maresca, who has now overseen six consecutive wins across three competitions.
