SNGPL Disconnects Four Gas Meters in Multan During Anti-Theft Drive

MULTAN: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its campaign against gas theft in Multan, disconnecting four meters and inspecting 60 consumer connections across different areas of the city.

The SNGPL UFG Control Task Force carried out the operation as part of its ongoing efforts to detect illegal gas use and improve the supply system.

According to officials, one gas meter had been removed by the consumer. The meter was later recovered during the operation.

Three other meters were disconnected after consumers were found using compressors to increase gas pressure, which is considered an illegal practice.

The task force also conducted door-to-door inspections of 60 consumers to check for possible irregularities and unauthorised use of gas.

SNGPL said such operations are aimed at controlling gas theft and helping maintain a reliable and quality gas supply for consumers.
