PSL 12 Likely to Begin on March 19, 2027

The 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to start on March 19, 2027, with the final provisionally scheduled for May 2.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly agreed on the proposed tournament window, although the dates have not yet been officially confirmed. The PCB is expected to consult the league’s franchises before making a formal announcement.
PCB Chooses March-May Window
The PSL broadcaster had reportedly pushed for an earlier January start, citing commercial and sponsorship opportunities. However, franchise owners preferred a later window, with April among the options discussed.
After considering the different proposals, the PCB has tentatively selected March 19 to May 2 for PSL 12.
The final schedule will be confirmed after consultations with the franchises, while venues and other arrangements are expected to be decided in the coming weeks.
PSL 12 to Clash With IPL
The upcoming PSL season is again expected to overlap with the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is scheduled from March 10 to May 15, 2027.
The two tournaments have faced similar scheduling overlaps in recent years. According to officials, previous clashes did not significantly affect interest in the PSL, with Pakistani audiences continuing to follow their domestic T20 competition.
The PCB is hopeful that the league will maintain strong viewership despite the overlapping schedule.
Overseas Players Could Join PSL
The availability of international players is another factor being considered for the upcoming season. Several overseas cricketers who are not involved in the IPL could be available for PSL 12.
The date for the player auction has not been finalised yet, but some franchises have reportedly started making contact with foreign players.
Sources indicate that several established international cricketers could feature in the PSL for the first time next season.
Preparations are expected to accelerate once the tournament dates receive final approval. Further details regarding venues, player recruitment and other logistical arrangements will be announced later.
