Ghulam Mustafa Bashir Qualifies for Asian Games Shooting Final

Pakistan’s Ghulam Mustafa Bashir has qualified for the men’s 25-metre rapid-fire pistol final at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

Bashir finished sixth in the qualification round at the Aichi Prefecture General Shooting Gallery to secure one of the eight available spots in the medal round.

Bashir Scores 578 Points

The Pakistani shooter recorded 578 points, including 19 inner tens, also known as Xs, during the qualification stage.

Kazakhstan’s Nikita Chiryukin also scored 578 points but finished ahead of Bashir because he registered more inner tens.

Vietnam’s Pham Quang Huy and Indonesia’s Suteja Dewa Putu Yadi also advanced to the final after posting the same score.

China’s Su Lianbofan Leads Qualification

China’s Su Lianbofan topped the qualification standings with 592 points and 24 Xs. His performance also set a new Asian Games qualification record.

South Korea’s Lee Gunhyeok secured second place with 588 points, while compatriot Yoon Seoyeong finished third with 581.

India’s Anish narrowly missed the final after finishing ninth with 576 points. China’s He Shiyu also scored 576 but was placed 10th.

Final Scheduled for Thursday

The eight qualified shooters will compete in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol final on Thursday.

Bashir’s qualification gives Pakistan another opportunity to compete for an Asian Games medal in shooting. His final position will depend on his performance in the medal round.
