Rain and Thunderstorms Forecast Across Pakistan Until October 7

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in several parts of the country as a westerly weather system is expected to enter the upper regions tonight and remain active until October 7.

The weather system may bring rain and thunderstorms to different areas, while isolated hailstorms are also possible in some locations.

Punjab and Islamabad

Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Narowal on October 6 and 7.

Other areas that may receive rain include Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Faisalabad.

Isolated hailstorms may also occur in some parts of the region.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to experience rain, thunderstorms and strong winds from the night of October 5 through October 7.

The forecast includes Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.

Some areas may also experience isolated hailstorms.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely at scattered locations across parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on October 6 and 7.

In Kashmir, areas including Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur may receive rainfall.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the forecast covers Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar.

Isolated hailstorms are also possible in some locations.

Weather Outlook for Balochistan

Most parts of Balochistan are expected to remain hot and dry. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms may develop in Zhob, Barkhan and Musakhel during the evening or night of October 6.

Mostly Dry Weather in Sindh

The weather is expected to remain mainly hot and dry across Sindh during the coming days, with no widespread rainfall activity currently forecast for the province.

Residents in areas included in the rainfall forecast are advised to remain aware of local weather updates, particularly during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds.
