Pakistan Airlines Consider Fare Increase After Jet Fuel Price Rise
Airlines operating in Pakistan may increase passenger ticket prices following a significant rise in jet fuel costs, according to aviation industry sources.
Jet fuel prices have increased by Rs9.50 per litre over the past three days, reaching Rs355.52 per litre.
Higher Fuel Costs Increase Airline Expenses
Aviation sources said the latest increase, recorded since October 1, has added to the operating expenses of airlines.
Fuel is one of the major costs associated with airline operations, and a sustained increase in jet fuel prices can put additional pressure on carriers’ overall expenses.
Airlines May Adjust Ticket Prices
In response to the higher fuel costs, airlines are reportedly considering an increase in passenger fares to offset the additional operating expenses.
However, any changes in ticket prices will depend on individual airline decisions and other market factors. No specific fare increase or implementation date has been officially announced so far.
Passengers planning air travel in the coming days may therefore see changes in ticket prices if airlines decide to pass some of the additional fuel costs on to customers.
