Dengue Cases Rise to 42 in Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi district has reported two more confirmed dengue cases, bringing the total number of infections recorded in the district to 42.
According to data issued by the District Health Authority, the new cases were confirmed on October 5 and 6. Ten patients with confirmed dengue are currently receiving treatment in hospital isolation wards.
Health facilities across the district conducted 5,161 dengue screenings, an increase of 67 from the previous figure of 5,094. The number of suspected cases also rose by 63 to 4,762.
Meanwhile, total hospital admissions declined slightly from 13 to 12. However, the number of confirmed dengue patients admitted to isolation wards remained at 10.
Authorities said Rawalpindi has not reported any dengue-related deaths so far in 2026.
The 12 cases reported during October have been detected in several high-risk areas, including Chaklala Cantonment, Wah Cantt, Adyala, Fouji Colony, Pindora, Dhama Syedan, Qayumabad, Chah Sultan, Dhamyal and CTR-II.
Dengue control teams have continued surveillance activities across the district. During the latest two-day operation, teams identified 1,982 additional locations where mosquito larvae were found.
Officials also identified severe concentrations of dengue larvae in parts of Chaklala Cantonment, Takhat Pari and Rawalpindi Cantonment.
Authorities have continued enforcement measures against locations found to be contributing to mosquito breeding. So far, 2,798 FIRs have been registered, 686 premises sealed and 2,331 challans issued. Fines imposed under the ongoing campaign have reached Rs. 3.15 million.
