Sports Correspondent: Imran Sohail

Club Brugge produced a stunning 4-3 victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, with Nicolo Tresoldi scoring a memorable hat-trick. Elsewhere, Bayern Munich were held to a 3-3 draw by Viking Stavanger, while Barcelona came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 4-1.

The night also saw Atletico Madrid secure a 2-0 win over Manchester United, who finished the match with 10 players, while Arsenal scored three goals in seven minutes to beat Lille 3-0.

Tresoldi Stars in Club Brugge’s Win Over Inter

Nicolo Tresoldi delivered an outstanding performance as Club Brugge defeated Inter Milan 4-3 in an entertaining Champions League encounter at San Siro.

Tresoldi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 30th minute after Hakan Calhanoglu fouled Carlos Forbs. Inter responded before half-time when Lautaro Martinez finished a well-worked move involving Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco.

However, a defensive misunderstanding allowed Forbs to get past goalkeeper Josep Martinez, leaving Tresoldi with a simple finish into an unguarded net.

The Brugge forward completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute, putting his side in a strong position. Lautaro Martinez scored his second goal seven minutes later to give Inter renewed hope.

Romeo Vermant extended Brugge’s advantage in the 87th minute, making it 4-2. Ange-Yoan Bonny scored for Inter deep into stoppage time, but the Italian side could not find another equaliser.

The result gave Club Brugge a memorable away victory and left Inter disappointed after a match in which defensive mistakes proved costly.

Bayern Munich Held by Viking Stavanger

Bayern Munich missed out on victory after conceding a late equaliser in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Viking Stavanger in Norway.

Viking made a fast start, with Gianni Stensness heading home from a corner in the second minute. The hosts doubled their lead in the 38th minute through a counter-attacking move as Bayern searched for a way back into the match.

Harry Kane started Bayern’s recovery by converting a penalty in the 54th minute following a VAR review of a foul on Konrad Laimer. The England striker then scored with a header six minutes later to bring the visitors level.

Kane’s goal extended his scoring run to nine consecutive Champions League matches, matching the competition’s second-longest streak, behind Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 11 successive games.

Luis Diaz put Bayern ahead in the 71st minute, but Michael Olise’s dismissal for a second yellow card three minutes later changed the balance of the contest.

Viking took advantage of their numerical superiority, with Herman Johan Haugen scoring in stoppage time to secure a valuable point for the Norwegian side.

Barcelona Recover to Beat Galatasaray

Barcelona produced an impressive second-half performance to defeat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul after falling behind in the first half.

Alexey Batrakov gave the Turkish side the lead in the 28th minute. Galatasaray briefly appeared to have doubled their advantage through Baris Yilmaz, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Joao Cancelo equalised shortly before half-time, giving Barcelona a platform for their comeback.

Lamine Yamal then played a decisive role in the second half, providing assists for Fermin Lopez and Anthony Gordon, who scored in the 50th and 53rd minutes respectively.

Karim Adeyemi added another goal to complete Barcelona’s 4-1 victory and cap a strong response after their difficult start.

The win highlighted Barcelona’s attacking quality and their ability to turn a challenging away fixture in their favour.

Atletico Madrid Defeat Manchester United

Atletico Madrid secured a 2-0 victory over Manchester United after scoring early and taking advantage of the visitors’ dismissal in the second half.

Atletico needed only 50 seconds to break the deadlock. Alex Baena advanced down the left before setting up Pablo Barrios, who finished the move.

Manchester United created several opportunities through Bryan Mbeumo and Marcus Rashford, but goalkeeper Jan Oblak helped Atletico preserve their advantage.

Atletico also had a goal ruled out before the interval after a handball by Marcos Llorente was identified in the build-up. Julian Alvarez later struck the post as the Spanish side continued to threaten.

United’s task became more difficult in the 74th minute when Leny Yoro was sent off for denying Jonathan David a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Five minutes later, Ademola Lookman scored Atletico’s second goal after David’s effort was saved, sealing the home side’s victory.

Arsenal Score Three in Seven Minutes to Beat Lille

Arsenal secured a convincing 3-0 win over Lille after breaking the French side’s resistance in the second half.

The opening goal arrived in the 64th minute when Jurrien Timber converted Noni Madueke’s pass.

Arsenal quickly increased their advantage through substitute Bukayo Saka, who set up Eberechi Eze to score. Saka then found the net himself in the 71st minute after receiving a pass from Kai Havertz.

The three goals in seven minutes ensured a comfortable finish for Arsenal, who turned a closely contested match into a decisive victory.

Champions League Produces Dramatic Results

Tuesday’s Champions League action delivered several surprising results and important performances across Europe.

Club Brugge claimed one of the night’s biggest victories by beating Inter Milan, while Bayern Munich were denied all three points by Viking’s late equaliser.
