Pakistan Conducts Test Launch of Extended-Range Fatah-II Missile

Pakistan’s Army has announced the successful test launch of the extended-range variant of its Fatah-II missile, highlighting advancements in the country’s missile technology and precision-strike capabilities.

According to an official military statement issued on Wednesday, the Fatah-II Extended Range (ER) is equipped with advanced navigation systems and modern avionics designed to improve targeting accuracy.

The military said the missile’s flight trajectory and manoeuvrability are intended to help it overcome missile defence systems and engage designated targets with precision.

Fatah-II Extended Range Features

The extended-range version is intended to increase the Pakistan Army’s operational reach. However, the official announcement did not disclose the missile’s maximum range or flight speed.

The military highlighted the system’s navigation technology, manoeuvrability and precision-strike capabilities as key features of the latest test.

The launch was witnessed by the Commander of the Army Rocket Force Command, senior military officers, and scientists and engineers involved in developing the weapon system.

Following the test, the commander praised the development team for its technical expertise and efforts in advancing Pakistan’s missile capabilities.

Pakistan’s Leadership Congratulates Development Team

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the successful test.

The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, along with the heads of the armed services, also extended their congratulations to the team responsible for the Fatah-II ER system.

The military described the test as an achievement reflecting the technical capabilities and dedication of Pakistan’s defence research and development personnel.

Focus on Missile Technology Development

The latest test highlights Pakistan’s continued efforts to develop and improve its missile systems, particularly in navigation, manoeuvrability and precision targeting.

While the military has outlined the intended capabilities of the extended-range Fatah-II, further technical details, including its maximum range and speed, have not been officially disclosed.
