AC Milan and Juventus Return to Winning Ways in Serie A

AC Milan and Juventus bounced back from recent setbacks with home victories on Sunday, while Frosinone stunned unbeaten Como and Napoli were held by Fiorentina.
AC Milan and Juventus returned to winning ways in Serie A with convincing home victories on Sunday, ending short runs without a league win.
Milan recorded a 3-0 victory over Lecce at San Siro, moving into fifth place and closing the gap on the early leaders. Juventus also secured three points with a 2-0 win against Atalanta in Turin.
The results provided relief for both teams after their recent struggles.
Pulisic Leads Milan to Comfortable Victory
Christian Pulisic scored his first Milan goal of the 2026 season as the hosts defeated Lecce 3-0.
The United States international opened the scoring in the 14th minute with an excellent finish. He controlled a long pass with his first touch before calmly sending the ball into the net.
Milan doubled their advantage after the interval when Adrien Rabiot completed a well-worked attacking move.
Substitute Diego Moreira then added a third goal, making it his third league goal in two matches.
The victory ended Milan’s three-match winless run in all competitions and moved them up to fifth.
Coach Ruben Amorim said his team still had plenty to improve but believed the players were making progress.
Juventus Beat Atalanta
Juventus also recovered from a difficult spell by defeating Atalanta 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium.
Francisco Conceicao gave Juventus the lead in the 28th minute, scoring his first goal of the season with a low finish.
The second half produced opportunities for both sides, with the goalkeepers making important saves. Juventus striker Randal Kolo Muani also made a crucial goal-line clearance to protect his team’s advantage.
Juventus eventually secured the win when Gleison Bremer headed home from a corner with 13 minutes remaining.
The result moved Juventus up to seventh place and handed Atalanta their third consecutive defeat.
Atalanta are currently coached by Maurizio Sarri, who took charge of the club during the summer.
Fiorentina Hold Napoli to a Draw
Napoli missed the opportunity to collect three points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Fiorentina.
Napoli took the lead when Billy Gilmour scored with a cushioned volley after Fiorentina had already hit the woodwork twice during the early stages.
Fiorentina responded after the break, with Alex Jimenez finding the net after his effort took a deflection.
The draw extended Fiorentina’s unbeaten run since Paolo Vanoli returned as head coach.
Vanoli previously helped the Florence-based club avoid relegation during the second half of last season before leaving the position.
Fiorentina’s improved results have lifted them two points clear of the relegation zone.
Frosinone Shock Como
One of the biggest surprises of the weekend came at Frosinone, where newly promoted hosts defeated high-flying Como 2-0.
Como arrived with an opportunity to move level with the league leaders but suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
Giacomo Calo and Giorgi Kvernadze scored in the first half to give Frosinone a two-goal advantage.
Goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani, an Italy Under-21 international, then produced several important saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The victory extended Frosinone’s unbeaten run to three matches and moved them into sixth place.
Como coach Cesc Fabregas described the performance as a major achievement for Frosinone after his side’s four-match winning run in all competitions came to an end.
Parma Secure First Win
Elsewhere, Parma defeated Genoa 2-1 to claim their first victory of the season.
The result also extended Genoa’s difficult start to the campaign, with Daniele De Rossi’s side remaining without a win after five matches.
The latest Serie A results have added further movement to the early league standings, with several clubs separated by only a small number of points.
