Balanz Capital/La Hechicera Claim Dominant Win in Trippetts Challenge Final

Balanz Capital/La Hechicera delivered a commanding performance to defeat defending champions Gaston 17-6 and secure the 2026 Trippetts Challenge title at Cowdray Park Polo Club.

The tournament featured six teams competing at up to the 22-goal level, with the final held on the historic Midhurst grounds after a week of closely contested matches that highlighted the strength and balance of all participating sides.

Gaston entered the match aiming to defend their 2025 title, but Balanz Capital/La Hechicera took control early and never looked back. Although Gaston stayed competitive in the opening stages, the momentum shifted decisively before half-time.

A strong surge in the third and fourth chukkas proved decisive, as Balanz Capital/La Hechicera scored six unanswered goals while keeping Gaston scoreless during that period, building a 10-3 lead by the end of the fourth chukka.

Lorenzo Chavanne led the winning side with an outstanding performance and was named Most Valuable Player of the final. He combined effectively with Camilo Castagnola and Ned Hine to maintain control throughout the match.

Despite efforts from David Stirling and Beltrán Laulhé to revive Gaston’s chances, Balanz Capital/La Hechicera continued to dominate in the second half, eventually sealing a comprehensive 17-6 victory.

The Best Playing Pony award went to V8 Back Home, ridden by Lorenzo Chavanne.
