The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the supply of an additional 50,000 metric tons of wheat from Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) stocks to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision was made during an ECC meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division.
According to officials, the approval was granted following a summary submitted by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Under the arrangement, wheat will be provided to the province at a rate of Rs. 4,150 per 40 kilograms.
The additional allocation is intended to help meet the province’s wheat requirements and support the availability of essential food supplies.
Officials said the measure aims to ensure adequate wheat stocks and facilitate smooth distribution within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, the ECC also reviewed and approved several other financial proposals and Technical Supplementary Grants presented by various ministries and government departments.
