England produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat India by 125 runs in the second T20 International at Trent Bridge, securing a commanding lead in the four-match series.

After posting 201 for 7 in their 20 overs, England’s pace attack dismantled India’s batting lineup, bowling the visitors out for just 76 runs in 11.4 overs. The defeat marked India’s largest loss by runs in T20 International history.

Opening batter Phil Salt led England’s batting effort with a well-made 70 runs, while Sam Curran added an unbeaten 41 to help the hosts cross the 200-run mark.

England’s bowlers then dominated from the start. Fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue consistently troubled India’s top order with pace and accuracy. Tongue claimed career-best figures of 4 wickets for 28 runs, while Archer finished with 3 wickets for 29 runs.

India captain Shreyas Iyer admitted his team’s performance fell well below expectations, saying there were important lessons to learn after such a heavy defeat.

Several Indian batters got starts but failed to build partnerships, allowing England to maintain complete control throughout the chase. Adil Rashid and Will Jacks also contributed with key wickets as India struggled against disciplined bowling.

Earlier in the innings, former England captain Jos Buttler scored 36, while Salt accelerated the innings with an attacking half-century before Curran provided a strong finish in the final overs.

Archer was named Player of the Match for his impressive spell with the ball.

With the victory, England now holds a 2-0 lead in the series after the opening match was abandoned due to rain. The hosts will have the opportunity to seal the series in the next T20 International, while India will look to recover and keep the contest alive.
