Iran Yet to Decide on Talks With US Amid Ongoing Tensions

Uncertainty continues over potential negotiations between Iran and the United States, as Tehran has not yet confirmed whether it will participate in a proposed second round of talks.

According to officials from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, no final decision has been made regarding attendance, even as preparations are underway in Islamabad to host the meeting. A US delegation is reportedly expected to arrive, adding to the anticipation surrounding the talks.

Sources indicate that negotiations remain possible, but concerns persist in Tehran over the demands of Donald Trump, which are being viewed as difficult to accommodate.

Tensions have also increased following reports of a US attempt to intercept an Iranian vessel near the Strait of Hormuz. In response, Iran signaled restrictions on access to the key shipping route, stating it could reconsider if US measures on Iranian ports are eased.

Iranian officials have raised questions about Washington’s approach to diplomacy, while also indicating that dialogue remains an option. At the same time, they have warned that the situation could escalate if conditions do not improve.

Despite the uncertainty, Pakistan continues logistical and security preparations for the potential talks, reflecting its role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries.

Analysts note that continued tensions in the Strait of Hormuz could impact global oil markets, especially if restrictions on Iranian exports remain in place.
