Islamabad Traffic Police Announce Temporary Traffic Diversions on Major Roads
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have issued a temporary traffic advisory for motorists due to the movement of a foreign delegation in the federal capital.
Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow an additional 15 to 20 minutes for travel, as traffic diversions may affect several major routes.
Roads Affected
According to the traffic advisory, temporary diversions may be implemented on the following roads:
- Murree Road
- Club Road
- Islamabad Expressway
- Jinnah Avenue (up to Khayaban Chowk)
- Garden Avenue
- Srinagar Highway (from Chungi No. 26 to Serena Chowk)
Traffic management measures will remain in place during the movement of the delegation.
Suggested Alternative Routes
The Islamabad Traffic Police have recommended the following alternate routes for commuters:
- Murree Road and Islamabad Expressway: Srinagar Highway, IJP Road, or Ninth Avenue
- Jinnah Avenue: Margalla Road or Seventh Avenue
- Garden Avenue: Srinagar Highway
- Srinagar Highway: IJP Road, Iran Avenue, Margalla Road, or nearby service roads
Motorists are encouraged to use these alternative routes where possible to help reduce travel delays.
Traffic Management Measures
The Islamabad Traffic Police said additional personnel will be deployed across the city to assist motorists and manage traffic flow during the temporary diversions.
