Karachi Airport on Alert as Dust Storm and Rain Forecast

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has placed Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on alert following a weather forecast predicting dust-laden winds and possible rain in the city.

According to officials, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast changing weather conditions, including strong winds and thunderstorms in parts of Karachi. In response, precautionary measures have been taken to ensure smooth and safe airport operations.

Airport authorities have instructed relevant departments to secure aircraft and ground equipment to prevent any damage caused by strong winds. Loose items on the apron and tarmac are being properly secured as part of safety procedures.

Officials have also directed inspections of electrical systems, runway lighting, and other operational equipment to ensure full functionality during adverse weather conditions.

All airport departments are closely monitoring the situation and remain prepared to respond to any disruption to flight operations caused by the changing weather.
