Karachi Restricts Heavy Vehicle Movement for Two Days

KARACHI: Karachi traffic police have announced temporary restrictions on the entry and movement of heavy vehicles in the city during Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ celebrations.

According to a traffic police spokesperson, dumpers, tankers and other heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter or operate within Karachi on August 25 and 26, corresponding to 11 and 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Temporary Traffic Restrictions

The restriction will remain in place from 11 Rabi-ul-Awwal until the night of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.

The measure is part of special traffic arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, as several religious processions and gatherings are expected to take place at different locations across Karachi.

Traffic authorities said the temporary restrictions are intended to help maintain smoother traffic flow and facilitate residents and participants during the celebrations.

Heavy Vehicle Operators Asked to Cooperate

Owners and operators of goods transport vehicles, dumpers, water tankers and other heavy vehicles have been advised to cooperate with the administration and avoid unnecessary movement during the restricted period.

Citizens have also been requested to follow traffic instructions and cooperate with traffic police personnel deployed across the city.

Authorities are expected to manage traffic diversions and movement around areas where religious gatherings and processions are scheduled.
