Lahore Gets World’s First AI-Powered Anti-Smog Guns

Punjab Launches World’s First Field-Tested Dust Suspension System to Tackle Smog in Lahore

In a groundbreaking move to combat air pollution, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the successful arrival and deployment of the world’s first field-tested Dust Suspension System in Lahore.

The initiative features 15 state-of-the-art Anti-Smog Guns, which are specially designed to reduce hazardous air particles in densely populated urban areas.

🚨 How the Anti-Smog Guns Work

These powerful fog cannons spray a fine mist of water into the air, targeting harmful pollutants such as PM2.5 and PM10. The water droplets bond with airborne dust and pollutants, causing them to settle and dramatically improving air quality.

📡 Smart, Automated Pollution Control

What sets this project apart is its integration with Punjab’s real-time air quality monitoring network. Using data from satellites, drones, and AI-powered systems, the Anti-Smog Guns will automatically activate when pollution levels rise—providing a timely and effective response.

The system will be strategically deployed across Lahore and is also linked with:

  • QR-coded brick kilns for emissions tracking

  • Punjab Environment Protection Force for on-ground enforcement

🌿 A Comprehensive Environmental Strategy

“This is a major leap forward in our fight against smog,” CM Maryam Nawaz shared in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
“With resolve, technology, innovation, and citizens’ participation, we will, Insha’Allah, win the fight against smog.”

This ambitious plan places Punjab at the forefront of environmental innovation, making it a model for other cities grappling with air pollution worldwide
