Multan Sultans Qualify for PSL 11 Playoffs With Win Over Rawalpindi

Multan Sultans secured their place in the playoffs of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) after a convincing six-wicket victory over Rawalpindi in the 31st match at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

Chasing a target of 167 runs, Multan Sultans reached the target with eight balls remaining, losing four wickets in the process.


Steve Smith Anchors the Chase

Steve Smith played a key role in the win with a quickfire 56 off 31 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes.

He shared a crucial 69-run partnership with Josh Philippe, who contributed 17 runs before getting out in the 10th over.

Later, Shan Masood and Ashton Turner added stability to the chase. Turner remained unbeaten on 37 off 21 balls and guided the team to victory along with Arafat Minhas.


Rawalpindi’s Competitive Total

Rawalpindi posted 166/6 after being asked to bat first.

Mohammad Rizwan scored 26 runs, while Mitchell anchored the innings with a solid unbeaten 58 off 46 balls.

Sam Billings contributed 29 runs, and Dian Forrester provided late acceleration with a quick 37 off 15 balls, helping Rawalpindi reach a fighting total.


Bowling Performance

For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Imran, Peter Siddle, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Arafat Minhas took one wicket each, helping restrict the opposition effectively.
