Naqvi meets mentors, reviews Champions Cup arrangements

PCB Chairman Pledges Improvements for Champions ODI Cup Facilities

FAISALABAD – Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently met with the mentors of the five participating teams in the upcoming Champions ODI Cup to discuss enhancements to pitch and ground facilities.

Naqvi, who is keen on ensuring the tournament benefits emerging cricket talent, promised to act on the mentors’ suggestions to improve conditions at Iqbal Stadium. The mentors included Misbah-ul-Haq (Wolves), Shoaib Malik (Stallions), Waqar Younis (Lions), Sarfraz Ahmed (Dolphins), and Saqlain Mushtaq (Panthers).

During the meeting, the mentors offered valuable recommendations for upgrading the facilities. Naqvi has instructed the Director of Domestic Cricket and the Director of High Performance to implement these improvements promptly.

The Champions ODI Cup, which kicks off on September 12, will feature the Wolves facing the Panthers in the opening match. Naqvi visited Iqbal Stadium to oversee final preparations and ensure everything is set for a successful tournament.

He emphasized the importance of this event in showcasing competitive cricket in Faisalabad after a long hiatus and expressed his commitment to establishing the Champions Cup as a premier cricket brand in Pakistan. Naqvi also highlighted the need for top-quality practice facilities and gym equipment for all teams involved.

With the tournament’s start drawing near, the PCB is focused on delivering an excellent experience for players and fans alike.
