Nelly Korda Takes Commanding Lead at Chevron Championship with Another 65
Nelly Korda delivered another impressive performance at the Chevron Championship, shooting a 7-under 65 in the second round to take a strong six-shot lead heading into the weekend.
The tournament, held at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, has seen Korda display exceptional consistency, with only one bogey through her first 36 holes. She finished Friday’s round at 14-under par, placing her well ahead of the field.
Korda closed her round with back-to-back birdies, showcasing precise iron play and strong control throughout the day. Her only mistake so far came on a short putt on the sixth hole, but she otherwise maintained steady and controlled form.
Speaking after her round, Korda said she feels confident in her game and mindset, emphasizing her ability to recover quickly from mistakes and stay focused under pressure.
Several players remain in contention behind her, including Patty Tavatanakit, who also delivered a bogey-free round of 69. Others close to the top include Ina Yoon, Ryan O’Toole, and amateur player Farah O’Keefe, who continues to impress in the tournament.
With two rounds remaining, Korda holds a commanding position as she aims for another major championship title, while the rest of the field looks to close the gap over the weekend.
