Oblique Seville Wins Men’s 100m at Silesia Diamond League 2026

Jamaican sprinter Oblique Seville delivered an impressive performance at the Silesia Diamond League on Sunday, August 23, winning the men’s 100-metre race in 9.83 seconds.
The reigning world champion finished ahead of American sprinters Kenny Bednarek and Christian Coleman at Stadion Śląski in Chorzów, Poland.
Seville Sets New Meeting Record
Running from lane five, Seville clocked 9.83 seconds, breaking the previous Silesia meeting record of 9.87 seconds set by Fred Kerley in 2024.
His latest performance was also just 0.01 seconds slower than his season-best time of 9.82 seconds.
Noah Lyles currently holds the fastest 100m time of the 2026 season, having recorded 9.79 seconds in New York on July 24.
Bednarek Finishes Second
Kenny Bednarek finished second with a season-best time of 9.87 seconds, while Christian Coleman secured third place in 9.93 seconds.
Kayinsola Ajayi, who had defeated Seville earlier this season in London and Eugene, finished fourth in 9.94 seconds.
South Africa’s Gift Leotlela completed the top five with a time of 9.95 seconds.
Seville Happy With His Performance
Speaking after the race, Seville said he was pleased with his performance and felt he was in good shape ahead of the upcoming Ultimate Championships.
The Jamaican sprinter also praised the atmosphere in Poland and said he hoped to return for another competition in the future.
Seville is now looking to maintain his strong form for the remainder of the season, with his next target expected to be the Diamond League meeting in Brussels.
