Pakistan and Kuwait Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments During High-Level Meeting
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and recent regional developments, including the situation in the Middle East.
The meeting took place at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the Kuwaiti foreign minister’s official visit to Islamabad.
Focus on Pakistan-Kuwait Relations
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the two leaders reviewed various aspects of cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening long-standing bilateral relations.
The discussions covered areas of mutual interest, with both sides expressing support for continued cooperation and closer engagement.
Regional and International Issues Discussed
The Foreign Office said the meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments.
Among the topics discussed was the evolving situation in the Middle East, with both leaders sharing perspectives on current regional developments.
Official Visit to Pakistan
Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Islamabad on an official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
Upon his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, the visiting minister was received by senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit reflects the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait, built on mutual cooperation, shared interests, and longstanding diplomatic ties.
Continued Diplomatic Engagement
Officials said the Kuwaiti foreign minister is also expected to hold additional meetings with Pakistan’s leadership during his visit.
The two countries continue to maintain cooperation in areas including diplomacy, trade, investment, labor, and regional affairs, with both sides expressing interest in further expanding bilateral collaboration.
