Pakistan Begins Training Camp for West Indies Test Series
Pakistan’s men’s Test squad has started its preparations for the upcoming tour of the West Indies with a training camp at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The 16-member squad and team management assembled in Islamabad on July 8 ahead of the camp. Following the training program, the team is scheduled to depart from Islamabad International Airport for the West Indies on July 13.
Training Schedule
The training camp includes practice sessions aimed at preparing the squad for the two-match Test series.
According to the schedule:
- The team will train from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the opening day of the camp.
- A two-day intra-squad practice match will be held on July 10 and 11.
- The camp will conclude with an optional training session on July 12 before the team’s departure.
West Indies Test Series
Pakistan will play a two-match Test series against the West Indies from July 25 to August 10.
The matches are scheduled to be played in Tarouba and Port of Spain, providing the visitors with their first Test tour of the Caribbean since 2021.
Before the series begins, Pakistan will also take part in a four-day practice match starting on July 18 to help the squad finalize its preparations.
Squad Leadership
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the Test squad for the tour, appointing Babar Azam as the team’s Test captain.
Babar previously led Pakistan in 20 Test matches between 2020 and 2023 and returns to the role for the upcoming series.
Upcoming International Schedule
Following the conclusion of the West Indies tour, Pakistan will travel to England for a three-match Test series, which is scheduled to take place from August 19 to September 13.
