Pakistan has emerged as a competitive outsourcing destination, ranking 16th globally in the Global Outsourcing Talent Index 2026 compiled by Ataraxis Management.
The index evaluates countries based on key factors such as talent availability, labor costs, digital infrastructure, and English proficiency. Pakistan’s position places it among the top tier of global digital labor markets, ahead of many established economies.
According to the report, Pakistan offers strong talent availability with a score of 80 out of 100, supported by a large and growing workforce. The country has millions of professionals engaged in freelance and remote work, with a significant presence on platforms like LinkedIn.
Pakistan also achieved a high labor cost competitiveness score of 97 out of 100, making it one of the most cost-effective outsourcing destinations globally. This positions the country as an attractive option for businesses seeking skilled professionals at competitive rates.
The report notes that Pakistan performs well in areas such as software development, data analysis, digital marketing, and other technology-driven services. Common outsourced roles include full stack engineers, graphic designers, data analysts, and mobile developers.
While Pakistan’s English proficiency score stands at 60 out of 100, similar to regional competitors, urban centers such as Islamabad and Lahore show higher proficiency levels, supporting growth in high-value services.
The study also highlights digital infrastructure as an area with room for improvement. Factors such as internet speed, broadband access, and digital ecosystem development play a key role in overall rankings.
Experts suggest that improvements in digital infrastructure could further strengthen Pakistan’s global position and enhance its competitiveness in the outsourcing market.
