Pakistan to Hold Training Camp Ahead of Bangladesh Test Series

Pakistan national cricket team will begin preparations for their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team with a training camp scheduled in Karachi, starting from April 29.

The camp marks the start of Pakistan’s build-up to the two-match Test series, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle. The team is expected to depart for Bangladesh on the night of May 3.

The series is tentatively set to begin on May 8, with the second Test likely to start on May 16. However, final confirmation of venues is still awaited from the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

As preparations continue, selectors are finalizing the squad. Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is reportedly involved in discussions and may take on a coaching role for the tour.

Wicketkeeper Rohail Nazir is also under consideration for inclusion, with possible changes expected in both the playing squad and team management.

Pakistan enter the series without recent red-ball match practice, having last played a Test series against South Africa national cricket team in October last year, which ended in a 1–1 draw.

Meanwhile, a separate red-ball training program is already underway, involving 18 players. This camp will continue until April 20 as part of broader preparations for upcoming Test commitments.

Looking ahead, Pakistan have a busy schedule. Under the Future Tour Programme, captain Shan Masood is set to lead the team on a tour of England for a three-Test series from August 19 to September 13.

Before that, Pakistan are expected to tour the West Indies for a two-Test series in July and August. Sri Lanka are also scheduled to visit Pakistan for a two-match Test series in November, while New Zealand are set to tour in March 2027.

The upcoming Bangladesh series will play an important role in shaping Pakistan’s performance in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
