Pakistan to Participate in Inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup in Indonesia
Pakistan is set to take part in the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup, scheduled to be held in Indonesia from 21 September to 6 October 2026. This will mark Pakistan’s participation in a FIFA-related tournament outside of qualification events.
Group Matches Confirmed
The national team is expected to face several regional sides, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand during the competition.
Recent International Performance
Pakistan enter the tournament following a strong performance in recent international football action, where they won the Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in the Maldives. The team remained unbeaten in the competition and secured a 2–0 win against Afghanistan in the final.
Growing International Exposure
Officials and observers see Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming event as part of increasing international engagement for the national team, which has seen more consistent activity in recent years after a long gap.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup is expected to provide an opportunity for Pakistan to gain experience against stronger regional teams and further develop its football program.
