Pakistan Volleyball Captain Raises Concerns Over Asian Games Arrangements

Pakistan volleyball captain Murad Jehan has expressed disappointment over organisational issues at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games after his team was taken to the wrong venue before its Pool A match against Uzbekistan.

Jehan shared his concerns in a video on Instagram, saying the team’s bus driver initially travelled to the wrong gymnasium.

According to the Pakistan captain, the mistake left the players with very little time to prepare for the important match.

Players had limited time to warm up

Jehan said the team was forced to deal with the situation shortly before the match and did not have enough time for a proper warm-up.

He also said some players had to change into their playing kits while travelling on the bus.

The Pakistan captain described the incident as disappointing and said the team had not expected such an issue during the Games.

Tournament organisers had not immediately responded to a request for comment regarding the complaint.

Food availability also questioned

Jehan said the transport issue was not the only concern faced by athletes during the competition.

He also claimed that food was not always available for athletes at dining areas after training sessions.

Despite the difficulties, Pakistan managed to put the disruption behind them once they reached the correct venue.

The national team produced a strong performance at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Gymnasium and defeated Uzbekistan 3-0 to secure its second consecutive victory in the competition.

Pakistan’s result came after the team had already recorded a win in its opening Pool A match, keeping its campaign on a positive track.
