Petrol Price Falls to Rs. 390.23 per Litre, Diesel Becomes More Expensive

The federal government has reduced the price of petrol in Pakistan to Rs. 390.23 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has increased to Rs. 396.96 per litre, according to the latest fuel price update issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Petrol has become cheaper by Rs. 2.90 per litre, providing some relief to motorists. In contrast, diesel has increased by Rs. 0.31 per litre, raising its price slightly for consumers and businesses that rely on diesel-powered transport.

The latest adjustment follows Wednesday’s revision, when petrol prices rose by Rs. 1.20 per litre to Rs. 393.86. Diesel prices, meanwhile, declined by Rs. 0.17 per litre to Rs. 396.65.

Latest Petrol and Diesel Prices in Pakistan

The revised rates announced for Thursday, October 15, 2026, are as follows:

  • Petrol: Rs. 390.23 per litre, down Rs. 2.90.
  • High-speed diesel: Rs. 396.96 per litre, up Rs. 0.31.

These changes reflect the latest adjustments under the daily fuel pricing mechanism.

Fuel Prices Have Increased Significantly Since July

Despite the latest reduction in petrol prices, fuel costs have risen considerably since daily price revisions began in July.

According to the available pricing data, petrol has increased by Rs. 79.81 per litre overall, while diesel has recorded a rise of Rs. 72.78 per litre over the same period.

Fuel prices are closely watched by households, transport operators and businesses because changes in petroleum costs can affect commuting expenses, freight charges and the cost of moving goods across the country.

Petrol is widely used by private vehicles and motorcycles, while diesel plays an important role in public transport, freight operations and several commercial activities.

The latest reduction in petrol prices offers limited relief to consumers, although the increase in diesel prices means that operating costs for diesel-dependent transport services remain under pressure.

Motorists and businesses will continue to monitor future government announcements for further changes to petroleum prices in Pakistan.
