Petrol Price Rises Above Diesel to Rs. 396.65 Per Litre
Petrol has become more expensive than diesel in Pakistan after the government increased its price for the fifth consecutive day.
According to the latest fuel price update, petrol has been increased by Rs. 1.82 per litre, taking its price to Rs. 396.65. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs. 0.91 per litre to Rs. 394.94.
The latest revision has reversed the recent price gap between the two fuels, with petrol now costing Rs. 1.71 more per litre than diesel.
On Tuesday, petrol was priced at Rs. 394.83 per litre after an increase of Rs. 1.19, while diesel was reduced by Rs. 1.91 to Rs. 395.85 per litre.
Fuel prices have undergone daily revisions in recent weeks. Since the start of the daily pricing mechanism, petrol has recorded a cumulative increase of Rs. 85.54 per litre, while diesel has risen by Rs. 71.64 per litre.
On September 30, petrol was available at Rs. 387.40 per litre and diesel at Rs. 400.35. Since then, petrol prices have continued to move upward, while diesel rates have generally declined.
The latest changes will affect transportation and other sectors that rely heavily on petroleum products. Any further movement in fuel prices could also influence overall transportation and operating costs across the country.
