PFF Postpones Under-17 Championship 2026 in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has postponed the Under-17 Championship 2026, which was scheduled to start in Islamabad on September 23.
The federation said the decision was taken in view of the prevailing situation in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It added that the safety and security of players, team officials and other participants remains a key priority.
The youth championship was originally scheduled to run until October 4, with 11 provincial and regional teams from across Pakistan expected to take part.
According to the PFF, the revised schedule will be announced after an assessment of the situation and conditions in the twin cities.
The Under-17 Championship is part of the federation’s youth development programme and is intended to give young footballers opportunities to compete at the national level.
The postponement means participating teams will have to wait for the revised dates before making arrangements to travel to Islamabad.
The PFF has not yet announced a new starting date for the tournament.
