PM Shehbaz, Saudi Crown Prince Emphasise Support for Iran–US Peace Talks

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have discussed ongoing Iran–US negotiations in a phone call, reaffirming the importance of diplomacy and regional stability.

According to a statement shared on social media by the prime minister, both leaders agreed that the next phase of talks should remain focused on dialogue and should not be undermined by any actions that could disrupt the peace process.

The conversation also included appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued role in supporting regional de-escalation efforts and strengthening cooperation with Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz described the discussion as warm and cordial, and expressed satisfaction over the current state of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted Pakistan’s interest in expanding economic cooperation with the Kingdom.

Separately, diplomatic developments around Iran–US negotiations have involved multiple international stakeholders, with reports indicating that planned talks in Switzerland were postponed. Officials have said discussions remain ongoing, and mediators are still working to facilitate further engagement.

Pakistan has previously played a role in supporting dialogue efforts between the parties during earlier phases of the conflict, alongside other regional partners.

The latest conversation reflects continued international focus on diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region.
