PMD Forecasts Start of Monsoon Season in Early July

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has indicated that the monsoon season in Pakistan is expected to begin in the first week of July, with rainfall activity likely to increase across different regions thereafter.

According to PMD officials, weather conditions are currently changing in several parts of the country, with occasional rainfall reported in various cities. Lahore may also experience light rain in the coming days as cloud cover increases.

The Met Office stated that Lahore is expected to remain partly cloudy for the next two to three days, which may bring some relief from ongoing warm conditions. Temperatures in the city are forecast to reach around 39°C, though no heatwave warning has been issued at this stage.

Officials added that current weather patterns remain within normal seasonal ranges and there is no immediate cause for concern regarding extreme heat conditions.

Further updates are expected as the monsoon system develops and progresses across the country in early July.
