Sentry Becomes New Title Sponsor of PGA Tour Event at Torrey Pines
Sentry Insurance has been announced as the new title sponsor of a PGA Tour event at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, marking a new chapter for one of the tour’s long-standing venues.
The tournament, now named “The Sentry,” is scheduled to take place from January 27 to 30 next year and will be played on both the North and South courses at Torrey Pines, a municipal course that has been part of the PGA Tour since 1968.
According to organizers, the event will conclude on Saturday to avoid scheduling conflicts with major NFL conference championship games.
Previously, Sentry served as the title sponsor of a PGA Tour event in Hawaii at Kapalua since 2018. That event was not held in 2026 due to infrastructure and environmental concerns affecting the course conditions in Maui.
With the change in sponsorship, the PGA Tour has adjusted its schedule to accommodate the new venue. The event is expected to take place shortly after The American Express tournament in California, continuing the early-season swing on the West Coast.
Officials noted that future placement of The Sentry in the PGA Tour calendar may change as part of broader schedule adjustments planned in the coming years.
The Torrey Pines event is expected to attract top-ranked golfers and continues the course’s tradition of hosting major professional golf tournaments in the United States.
