Shahid Afridi Visits United Nations Headquarters in New York

Former Pakistan cricket captain and renowned all-rounder Shahid Afridi visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York during an official engagement hosted by Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN.

During the visit, Afridi met with Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, who briefed him on the mission’s activities and Pakistan’s participation in various UN initiatives.

Afridi was also given a tour of the UN Headquarters and received an overview of the organization’s work in areas including international cooperation, sustainable development, and global peace efforts.

Officials highlighted the positive role that sports can play in bringing people together, promoting mutual understanding, and encouraging international collaboration.

Ambassador Ahmad praised Afridi for his contributions to cricket and acknowledged his involvement in charitable and community welfare initiatives through the Shahid Afridi Foundation.

Following the visit, Afridi thanked the ambassador and the mission for their hospitality and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about Pakistan’s engagement at the international level.

Shahid Afridi is one of Pakistan’s most recognized cricketers, having represented the country across Test, One-Day International, and T20 formats during his international career.
