Sindh Issues Weather Advisory for Fishermen Ahead of Expected Rough Sea Conditions

KARACHI: The Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department has issued a weather advisory urging fishermen to avoid venturing into the deep sea on August 1 and 2 due to forecasts of rough sea conditions and unfavorable weather.

The advisory was issued following information received from the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) regarding the possibility of stormy conditions along the coast.

Fishermen Advised to Remain Cautious

According to officials, fishermen have been requested to postpone deep-sea fishing activities during the advisory period to ensure their safety.

Those who are already at sea have been advised to return to shore as soon as possible, while boats anchored near coastal areas have been instructed to move to safer locations where necessary.

Authorities Monitoring the Situation

The Fisheries Department said it is coordinating with relevant government agencies to help protect the lives and property of fishing communities during the expected period of adverse weather.

Officials added that precautionary measures are being implemented in line with safety guidelines issued by disaster management authorities.

The department has encouraged fishermen to remain updated through official weather advisories and to immediately contact the relevant emergency authorities if assistance is required.

Authorities also warned that compliance with government safety instructions is essential during periods of hazardous weather.

Officials stated that the temporary restriction on deep-sea fishing will remain in effect until further updates are issued based on weather conditions.
