Sohail Chaudhry Officially Takes Charge as IG Islamabad
Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has officially assumed his responsibilities as the new Inspector General of Islamabad Police.
Guard of Honor Held
A formal change-of-command ceremony was held to mark his appointment. A contingent of Islamabad Police presented Sohail Chaudhry with a guard of honor upon his arrival at the Central Police Office.
After taking charge, the new IG held introductory meetings with senior police officials and received detailed briefings on the department’s professional and operational affairs.
He also met with Central Police Office staff and reviewed various administrative matters.
New IG Outlines Key Priorities
Sohail Chaudhry later visited the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to police officers who sacrificed their lives while serving the country.
Speaking about his priorities, the new Islamabad Police chief said maintaining law and order and ensuring the protection of citizens would remain his primary responsibilities.
He directed the police to focus on providing timely and effective services to the public.
Focus on Crime Prevention and Modern Policing
The IG emphasized the need to strengthen crime prevention efforts and improve traffic management in the federal capital.
He also called for better public services and increased use of modern technology to improve policing and operational efficiency.
Sohail Chaudhry further stressed the importance of accountability and discipline within the police force. He said the sacrifices of police martyrs would continue to be remembered and honored.
The new IG expressed his commitment to strengthening public trust in Islamabad Police and making the force more responsive to the needs of citizens.
