USA’s Van Winden and Sparks Win Geneva Futures Gold in Strong Beach Volleyball Season

USA beach volleyball pair Torrey Van Winden and Lindsey Sparks continued their impressive 2026 season by winning gold at the Geneva Futures event in Switzerland on Sunday.

The American duo defeated host nation pair Annique Niederhauser and Menia Bentele in a closely contested final to claim their first Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour gold medal.

Strong Run to the Title

Van Winden and Sparks remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning all five of their matches on their way to the top of the podium.

In the final, they recovered after losing the opening set to secure a 2-1 victory, showing resilience in key moments to complete a successful campaign.

The win marks another milestone in their breakthrough season, having already collected medals at multiple international events earlier in the year.

Podium Finish for Switzerland and USA

Switzerland’s Niederhauser and Bentele claimed the silver medal after a strong home performance, while another American pair, Tambre Nobles and Clara Stowell, secured bronze after winning the third-place match.

Nobles and Stowell also produced a comeback win to finish their tournament on a positive note and earn their first Beach Pro Tour medal.

Consistent Season for USA Pair

Van Winden and Sparks have enjoyed a consistent 2026 season, building momentum with strong results across NORCECA and Beach Pro Tour events. Their victory in Geneva adds a major international gold medal to their growing record.

A total of 25 women’s teams from 11 countries participated in the Geneva Futures tournament, highlighting the global depth of competition.
