Quetta-Zahedan and Mashhad Air Links Resume After Suspension
Air services connecting Quetta with the Iranian cities of Zahedan and Mashhad have resumed, restoring an important travel link between Pakistan and Iran.
An Iran Air flight, numbered IRA 0827, arrived at Quetta International Airport from Zahedan on Wednesday before departing for the Iranian city with 80 passengers on board.
Officials from the Zahedan Chamber of Commerce were among those arriving in Quetta. They were welcomed at the airport by Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Jangiyan Dashti Baloch, former presidents Muhammad Ayub Miryiani and Jumma Khan Badizai, Airport General Manager Khalid Kakar and other officials.
The air routes between Quetta and the Iranian cities of Zahedan and Mashhad were launched in December 2025. However, services were suspended for a period due to the prevailing international situation.
The resumption of flights is expected to improve passenger connectivity, support cross-border trade and strengthen commercial relations between Pakistan and Iran.
Business representatives and residents of Balochistan have welcomed the restoration of the services, viewing it as a positive development for regional travel and economic cooperation.
