Australia Defeat Bangladesh to Seal T20 Series 2–0
Matt Renshaw produced a match-winning all-round performance as Australia edged Bangladesh by seven runs in a thrilling second T20 International in Chattogram to clinch the three-match series.
Australia posted 196/5 after choosing to bat first, before holding their nerve in a tense final over to restrict Bangladesh to 189/6.
Renshaw Leads Australia’s Batting Effort
Australia were under early pressure after losing quick wickets inside the powerplay. However, Renshaw anchored the innings with a brilliant unbeaten 89 runs, playing a key role in stabilising the innings.
He was well supported by Tim David, who struck a quick 45 off 26 balls. Their partnership helped Australia recover and post a competitive total.
Bangladesh Fight Hard in the Chase
Bangladesh began strongly in pursuit of 197, with openers Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan putting on a rapid 48-run stand in the powerplay.
Middle-order contributions from Parvez Hossain Emon and Towhid Hridoy kept Bangladesh in the contest, but regular wickets slowed their momentum at crucial stages.
Despite a late push, Bangladesh fell short by just seven runs, finishing on 189/6 after needing eight runs from the final delivery.
Bowling Performance Secures Series Win
Australia’s bowlers delivered under pressure in the final overs, with key breakthroughs helping them defend the target. The disciplined bowling effort ensured they took an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series.
