LONDON: King Charles is reportedly taking significant steps to welcome back his estranged son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, into the royal fold.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from their senior royal roles in 2020, are set to visit Colombia as part of their global philanthropic efforts with the Archewell Foundation. According to former royal butler Grant Harrold, this tour likely received some form of approval from the Palace or King Charles himself.
“It will be good to know if this has been sanctioned by the Palace or if Harry had a conversation with his father asking if he can do this,” Harrold told Express.co.uk. He emphasized that undertaking such a tour without approval could upset the monarchy and lead to repercussions if permission was not granted by the royal household.
Harrold further explained that if Harry and Meghan are conducting a royal tour, it suggests they are “acting as working royals,” potentially indicating their re-entry into royal life.
The couple’s previous visit to Nigeria in May, in connection with the Invictus Games, also stirred controversy among royal watchers, who criticized it as a ‘faux royal’ tour.
