Honda Hikes Car Prices After Budget

Honda Pakistan Increases Car Prices After New Government Levy

Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited has announced revised prices for all its locally assembled models, effective July 1, 2025, following the introduction of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) Levy under the Finance Act 2025-26.

Why the Price Hike?

The NEV Levy is part of a government initiative aimed at promoting electric and hybrid vehicle adoption by increasing the cost of conventional fuel-powered vehicles. In response, Honda has adjusted its prices across its Complete Knock-Down (CKD) lineup. Pricing updates for the Honda HR-V are expected to be announced separately.

Other Automakers Follow Suit

Honda is not the only company to implement price hikes. Other major auto manufacturers in Pakistan — including Suzuki, Hyundai, Changan, and Kia — have also revised their pricing structures in light of the new government levy.

What This Means for Car Buyers

The NEV Levy is expected to encourage buyers to consider electric and hybrid vehicles, which offer long-term fuel savings and reduced emissions. However, for those still opting for petrol-powered models, increased prices may impact affordability.
