Pakistan Hockey Players Raise Concerns Over Unpaid Dues and Communication Gaps

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is facing mounting criticism from national team players over delayed payments and a lack of communication, sparking concerns about morale and transparency within the sport’s governing body.

🏑 Players Await Payments Following International Success

Multiple senior players have voiced frustration after not receiving their daily allowances for the FIH Nations Hockey Cup in Malaysia, where Pakistan secured a silver medal. In addition, players have not been paid for two domestic training camps held in Islamabad.

“The federation has kept us waiting for months, and now they’re not even responding,” players said in off-the-record conversations.

Each player is reportedly owed up to PKR 500,000, with allowances including:

  • PKR 30,000/day for international tournaments

  • PKR 3,000/day for domestic training sessions

Despite these established PHF policies, no payments have been processed.

🤝 Captain Steps In Amid Growing Tensions

National team captain Ammad Butt has stepped forward to support his teammates, assuring them he will raise the issue with relevant authorities and push for transparency.

While players continue to train and compete with full professionalism, internal dissatisfaction is growing. Some players have hinted at taking further steps if the situation is not resolved promptly.

💬 Communication Breakdown Fuels Frustration

The PHF has yet to issue a formal statement regarding the issue. The lack of response has left players feeling sidelined, especially in the wake of a strong international performance that symbolized a potential revival of Pakistan’s hockey legacy.

🇵🇰 A Critical Moment for Pakistan Hockey

The recent success at the international level had sparked hope for the future of Pakistani hockey. However, financial uncertainty and administrative issues threaten to derail this progress. Stakeholders and sports authorities are now being urged to intervene and safeguard the welfare of national athletes.

As Pakistan hockey aims to reclaim its former glory, ensuring player support, timely compensation, and organizational accountability will be crucial steps toward long-term success.
