Pakistan Ranks Among Top 20 Most Generous Nations According to World Giving Report 2025

Pakistan Ranks 17th Globally for Generosity in World Giving Report 2025

Pakistan has earned global recognition for its generosity, ranking 17th out of 101 countries in the World Giving Report (WGR) 2025, released by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) UK in collaboration with the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP).

💚 The WGR evaluates countries based on three key indicators:

  1. Helping a stranger

  2. Donating money

  3. Volunteering time

Pakistan showed exceptional progress, particularly in individual donations, where citizens demonstrated one of the highest proportions of income donated worldwide.

“This is a proud moment for Pakistan, showcasing our rich culture of compassion and collective responsibility,” said Shazia Maqsood Amjad, Executive Director of PCP.

Despite ongoing economic challenges, Pakistanis continue to step up through:

  • Financial donations

  • Time spent volunteering

  • Support for strangers and those in need

📊 The report also reflects Pakistan’s deep-rooted traditions of Zakat, community giving, and informal support networks, all of which play a vital role in social welfare and poverty reduction.

🛠️ PCP’s national research aligns with global trends, highlighting extensive philanthropic contributions across:

  • Healthcare

  • Education

  • Disaster response

  • Social safety programs

🌍 Globally, the report finds that generosity remains resilient even during times of economic uncertainty. Pakistan’s ranking is a testament to the nation’s enduring values of empathy and social responsibility.

The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy continues to promote responsible giving through certification, research, and multi-sector partnerships—working to build a stronger, more transparent culture of philanthropy in Pakistan.
