Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Launches “Strong Bodies, Strong Minds” Campaign to Empower Women and Girls Through Sport

The Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 has officially launched a powerful new initiative, “Strong Bodies, Strong Minds”, aimed at building body confidence and encouraging greater participation of women and girls in sport.

With over one million girls in the UK stepping away from sports after primary school, often due to body image concerns, this campaign seeks to shift perceptions and promote positive body image through the lens of rugby.

Celebrating Strength, Confidence & Community

“Strong Bodies, Strong Minds” kicks off with a special episode of the popular podcast “Should I Delete This?”, hosted by Em Clarkson and Alex Light, and features Welsh rugby star Gwen Crabb. The episode explores how rugby can reshape perspectives, focusing on what the body can do—rather than how it looks.

Crabb shares her journey, saying:

“It doesn’t matter what body shape I am or how much I weigh — there’s a place for me on the team. Rugby teaches you to value performance over appearance.”

The podcast dives into the broader issues young women face and highlights how sport can be a transformational tool for self-esteem, mental strength, and community.

A Movement for Inclusion and Empowerment

The campaign is part of the Rugby World Cup 2025’s broader commitment to celebrate diversity and ensure every woman and girl feels they belong in sport. It emphasizes that rugby is for everyone — strong, powerful, and unapologetically real.

Sarah Massey, Managing Director of RWC 2025, shared:

“Our ambition goes beyond the game. We want to inspire girls and women to know they belong in rugby, and in sport. This campaign is a message of confidence, power, and inclusion.”

Going Nationwide

“Strong Bodies, Strong Minds” will be promoted through digital platforms, social media, and media outreach. Leading athletes including Ireland’s Linda Djougang, Scotland’s Rhona Lloyd, and England’s Sarah Bern are lending their voices to this movement.

Fans and players can join the campaign online and be part of the conversation using the hashtags:
